Valio Oy acquires Gold&Green Foods Ltd Oy, from Paulig Oy

Aventum has advised Valio in the acquisition of Gold & Green

Valio Oy (“Valio”) has acquired key business assets of Gold & Green Foods Oy (“Gold & Green” or ”G&G”) from Paulig. The transaction includes all the rights of the Gold & Green brand, intellectual property and research and development functions.

Valio is a brand leader in Finland and a major player in the international dairy ingredients market. In addition, Valio has multiple times been ranked as the most sustainable brand in Finland and is a top Finnish producer of a growing range of plant-based products, such as Oddlygood™. Valio exports its products to 60+ countries and has net sales of close to 2 billion euros and more than 4200 employees.

Gold & Green is a Finnish foodtech pioneer manufacturing high protein plant-based food products. The company has developed valuable innovations throughout the years and received wide international attention for its Pulled Oats innovation®. Together with Valio’s industry leading resources, G&G’s capabilities can be fully utilized to further develop and launch next generation plant-based products and scale the business.

The acquisition of G&G is perfectly in line with Valio’s growth strategy within plant-based products and solutions. G&G is planned to become part of the Valio Growth Businesses. Through the transaction, Valio strengthens its robust position within the plant-based foods space in Finland and creates an even stronger platform for international growth.
