Tradeka Group Limited acquires Lehtipiste from Sponsor Capital

Tradeka Group Limited, the Finland-based Daily good's retail business of Cooperative Tradeka Corporation, has agreed to acquire Lehtipiste Oy, the Finland-based company engaged in engaged in distribution of magazines and newspapers, from Sponsor Capital Oy, the Finland-based private equity firm, for an undisclosed consideration. The acquisition is in alignment with Tradeka’s strategy to invest in companies in the domestic service sector activities and a long-term anchor shareholder. Tradeka will benefit from Lehtipiste’s qualified management and staff. Post acquisition, Lehtipiste will continue with its usual business activities. The transaction is expected to close by the end of September. The transaction is subject to the approval of the Competition and Consumer Agency. In 2015, Lehtipiste reported a turnover of EUR 66m and it employs approximately 100 people. In February 2014, Sponsor had acquired Lehtipiste from Sanoma Oyj for an undisclosed consideration.
