Oy Karl Fazer AB acquires Kaslink Foods Oy Ltd
Fazer Group (“Fazer”) has acquired Kaslink Oy and its subsidiaries (“Kaslink”). Aventum Partners acted as an adviser to Fazer Group on the acquisition.
Fazer is an international family-owned company offering quality bakery, confectionery, biscuit and grain products, plant-based meals, non-dairy products, on-the-go food & drinks as well as food and café services. The Group operates in nine countries and exports to around 40 countries. In 2018, Fazer Group had net sales of 1.6 billion euros and more than 15,000 employees.
Kaslink is a Finnish family-owned manufacturer and developer of premium Scandinavian food products including cooking products, drinks and snacks founded in 2001. Today, Kaslink is an innovative actor with a modern production facility in Kouvola, southeast Finland, and proficiency in production based technological know-how. The company’s Kaslink Aito product family is made of Nordic oats and consists of non-dairy drinks, cooking products and snacks. Kaslink has a strong position in the Finnish market and its entry into the highly competitive Swedish market has also been successful, creating a platform for future growth. In 2018, Kaslink reported net sales of 65 MEUR and employed 170 people.
The acquisition of Kaslink is perfectly in line with Fazer’s growth strategy within plant-based products and solutions and it speeds up its transformation into a modern sustainable food company. Kaslink is planned to become part of the Fazer Lifestyle Foods business area, established in 2017, which focuses on non-dairy grain products, plant-based meals and on-the-go snacking. Through the acquisitions, Fazer becomes a leading player within the oat space in Finland with strong fundamentals for international growth.
