Koiviston Auto Oy is acquired by CapMan Oyj's infrastructure fund

Aventum advised the owners of Koiviston Auto (Metsäpietilä Oy) in the sale of the Company to CapMan Infra The roots of family-owned Koiviston Auto date back to 1928. Today Koiviston Auto is the largest bus operator in Finland with a nationwide network of depots and routes, generating turnover of 173 million euros in 2020. The company employs 2,300 people, has a fleet of c. 1,000 buses and transported around 85 million passengers pre-pandemic in 2019. Koiviston Auto is the market leader in market-based intercity traffic with its well-known brands OnniBus.com and OnniBus Flex. In the contract-based urban bus transportation business the Company has strong presence and market position in the regions of Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Lahti, Kuopio, Oulu, Porvoo, Rauma, Rovaniemi and Varkaus. The industry is in transition, as traffic is being rapidly electrified. Koiviston Auto is well-positioned to drive the electrification of the bus sector and has demonstrated strong track record in electric tenders. The Company is already operating electric buses in Kuopio and Lahti and in 2020 the Company won HRT’s (Helsinki Regional Transport Authority) biggest ever tendering process including more than 60 new electric buses. With significant experience in implementing a green shift of the transportation sector, CapMan continues to develop the Company and bring in additional resources and expertise to ensure Koiviston Auto’s success also in future.
